Therapy
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, empathetic, and person-centered. I work with clients facing challenges like anxiety, depression, and trauma, tailoring my approach to individual needs. I draw from various modalities, including Psychodynamic therapy (talk) and EMDR. I believe exploring past traumas and attachments can be especially beneficial, as patterns formed early in life, though once adaptive, may now hinder adult functioning.
I view psychotherapy as a process of loosening the bonds of past experiences and creating space for reflection where it’s been lacking. This enables us to better understand ourselves, connect with others, and live with greater authenticity.
Research supports that the therapeutic relationship is the most critical factor in achieving positive outcomes. I work in partnership with clients, ensuring mutual respect, dignity, and empowerment. Successful therapy requires: 1) a strong therapist-client alliance, 2) a shared understanding of therapy’s purpose, and 3) agreement on the methods used to achieve that purpose.
I encourage every client to interview multiple therapists to find the best fit. You are the best judge of whether I am the right therapist for you, and I’m happy to provide referrals if needed.
